ActivFeatureCalc is typically used to analyze the blobs extracted by ActivBlobFinder or ActivOCR. Features can be calculated in other units than pixels either by using ActivView's subtool ActivViewCalibration or by combining ActivFeatureCalc with ActivGeoCalib. The latter is necessary to obtain high-accuracy 3D results.
If you align ROIs automatically to moving parts with the help of ActivAlignment, features can be transformed back into the reference image. This can be useful to inspect and compare features which depend on the position of a part, e.g., the area centroid.
ActivDataView displays the calculated features in a spreadsheet. You can evaluate these results in ActivDecision by formulating conditions the results have to meet in order to be "okay". Results and evaluations can then be written to a log file using ActivFile, output via the serial interface using ActivSerial, or output to digital I/O boards via ActivDigitalIO.
